Susan Needham has over 25 years’ experience working in the financial services industry, including several years at the highest levels of multi-national financial services providers. Susan has an extensive knowledge of both trust and fund structures in compliance, risk management and regulatory reporting.

Susan Needham was the Head of Compliance for the Maples Group, overseeing the internal compliance function for Maples and Calder and MaplesFS Limited for the Americas and the Caribbean regions, as well as holding the MLRO role for various Maples entities. For the latter part of her career at Maples, Susan acted in a part-time consulting role.

Before joining Maples, Susan was Head of Compliance and Operations at ITA Bank and Trust Cayman Ltd and Head of Compliance and Operational Risk Manager for Standard Chartered Trust (Cayman) Limited where she was responsible for the supervision of regulatory and operational compliance.

Prior to Standard Chartered, Susan worked in various compliance roles for HedgeServ (Cayman) Limited, Butterfield Fulcrum Group (Cayman) Limited and Fortis Fund Services (Cayman) Limited.

Susan holds an International Diploma in Compliance from the International Compliance Association and University of Manchester in the UK.
