Joeniel is an Articled Clerk with Claritas.

Before commencing his Articles, Joeniel was our Office Manager and Paralegal at, where he supported the firm’s principals on compliance and legal matters and assisted with administrative and IT functions.

He holds an LLB and has nine years of experience in the legal field, including seven years in the public sector and two years in private practice. Joeniel was awarded the Cayman Islands Compliance Association Scholarship and subsequently earned his ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) designation on 1 November 2023.

Joeniel completed the Professional Practice Course at the Truman Bodden Law School in partnership with Oxford Brookes University on 5 July 2024. He began his Articles with the Portfolio of Legal Affairs of the Cayman Islands on 1 October 2024, later returning to Claritas on 1 July 2025 to undertake his Judicial Clerkship with the Cayman Islands Law Courts.

He has now rejoined Claritas to complete the remainder of his Articles, and we look forward to celebrating the completion of his Articles in March 2026.
